For equipment, the test brought by low temperature and rainy and snowy weather in winter is more severe than usual! If it is not used correctly at this time, it will directly affect the starting effect, and even cause damage to the forklift parts. So, how to better operate and maintain forklift in winter?

Oil and water replacement and inspection for diesel forklift:

(1) Diesel

At low temperature, the viscosity of diesel oil increases, resulting in poor fluidity, poor atomization, and worsened combustion, and the startability, power, and economy of the diesel engine are significantly reduced. Therefore, diesel oil with a lower freezing point should be selected, that is, the freezing point of the selected diesel oil is generally 3-5°C lower than the ambient temperature, so as to ensure that the use will not be affected by freezing at the lowest temperature.

Generally speaking, 0# diesel can be used in winter in the south of the Yangtze River, -35°C diesel should be used in severe winters in Northeast, Northwest and border areas, and -20°C diesel should be used in severe winters in other areas

(2) engine oil

At low temperature, the viscosity of engine oil increases with the decrease of temperature, the fluidity becomes poor, the frictional resistance increases, and the diesel engine is difficult to start. Therefore, the engine oil with lower viscosity should be replaced in time. Lubrication.

(3) Gear oil and grease

In winter, the transmission and reducer need to be replaced with the original gear oil to lubricate the deceleration and transmission system. The hinge mechanism and hub bearings are filled with low-temperature grease for better lubrication.

(4) Hydraulic oil

The hydraulic oil should be replaced according to the working environment of the vehicle. When the vehicle is working or parked below -20°C for a long time, it needs to be replaced with ISO VG46 hydraulic oil. When the vehicle is used above -20°C, use ISO VG32 hydraulic oil.

(5) Check and replace the forklift brake fluid.

Check the brake oil, if it is seriously dirty, deteriorated, mixed with water, etc., replace the original brake oil in time

(6) Cooling system replacement and inspection

Check and confirm that the cooling water of the water tank is antifreeze for winter, so as to prevent the forklift from being parked at low temperature for a long time, the cooling water will freeze and the cooling system will not work normally. Check and confirm the working conditions of the thermostat and water pump. The density of antifreeze is as follows

Electric forklift battery use and maintenance:

(1) When the weather temperature is lower than 10°C, it is best to bring the electric forklift and battery indoors for charging or parking, and avoid placing the electric forklift outdoors overnight or charging in a low temperature environment to ensure that the battery can be fully charged.

(2) Make sure the battery is fully charged before using it every day. However, it cannot be charged with a large current for too long, otherwise it will cause the battery to be overcharged, thus affecting the use and life of the battery.
