The Choice And Consideration Of Forklift Attachment
Nov 17, 2023Forklift use is limited, in order to strengthen the better convenience of forklift work, forklift accessories were born, which are frequently used in electric counterbalance forklifts and internal combustion forklifts. After the attachment is installed on the forklift, the original design state of the forklift has actually been changed, so in the actual operation process, how will the carrying capacity of the forklift change? Will it further affect the operation and use of forklifts? Before analyzing the situation, NEOlift will introduce the following concepts, which are the factors most closely related to the actual carrying capacity of forklifts, and are also indispensable when calculating and determining the comprehensive carrying capacity of forklifts.
1. Load capacity
The load capacity of the accessory is the maximum weight that the accessory can safely carry under a certain load center.
2. Load center distance
Load center distance refers to the distance between the front surface of the frame and the center of gravity of the load.
3. Loss of load distance
The distance from the front surface of the fork frame to the front surface of the accessory frame (i.e. the thickness of the accessory).
4. Carrying capacity
The carrying capacity is an important aspect to be considered in the selection process of forklift trucks and accessories. After the installation of the forklift trucks (mainly counterweight), the combination (comprehensive) carrying capacity of the forklift trucks and accessories, that is, the maximum carrying weight of the goods, will be reduced for the following two reasons:
1) The torque generated by the self-weight of the accessories offsets part of the forklift's bearing torque.
2) Because the thickness of the frame structure is greater than the thickness of the fork, the load center of the forklift (the distance from the center of the goods to the front end of the forklift fork) moves forward in actual operation, and also offsets a part of the bearing torque of the forklift.
In the face of the working environment, operation mode and the different forklifts used or to be purchased by different enterprise customers in different fields, how can we choose a forklift truck that is suitable for the working environment of our own enterprise? Under normal circumstances, the customer must provide the actual working conditions and requirements of the equipment to the forklift Oems or their sales agents or equipment companies. According to this important information, the forklift Oems or their sales agents or accessories companies can carry out the selection of accessories.
The following are the factors to consider when choosing a property:
1) What kind of goods the customer carries out: such as paper rolls, soft bags, buckets, household appliances, pipes, pallets and other projects.
2) Cargo weight: (including pallets), length (along the direction of travel), width/diameter, height.
3) Outer surface/contact surface (outer packaging).
4) Mode of transport:
a. Pallet transportation: the ruler of the cargo pallet, the height of the pallet jack
b. Pallet-free transportation: cargo stack spacing, number of goods
5) Specific handling information/actual environment:
How the customer will handle these goods: push/clamp/rotate (level in the direction of travel)/roll (level in the direction of travel)/lateral movement/roll (along the direction of travel)/load on the rear of the car/load on the side of the car.
6) Current customer status information: How has the customer solved the handling problem so far? How do they want to improve? What do they envision?
7) What are the restrictions in practical application: height, length, width, weight, other.
8) Application areas of accessories: smelters, construction sites, warehouses, special occasions, etc.
9) Environmental factors: explosive area, dust, high temperature, low temperature, acid, sugar, salt, food, nutrition, drinks, etc.
10) Forklift truck: forklift truck model, door frame type, selected equipment type, action function, according to the equipment type and function to determine the additional oil circuit of the forklift truck.
