Forklifts are various wheeled transport vehicles used for palletizing, loading and unloading, short-distance transportation and heavy-duty transportation. As an important means of modern logistics and transportation, forklifts are widely used in cargo yards, airports, stations, ports, warehouses, factory workshops, distribution centers and distribution centers. They can enter cabins, carriages and containers to load and unload pallet cargo. It is an indispensable equipment in pallet transportation and container transportation. Forklifts can realize the mechanization of loading and unloading, save a lot of labor, reduce labor intensity, shorten the operation time of loading and unloading, handling and stacking, improve work efficiency, speed up material and vehicle turnover, greatly improve warehouse utilization, promote the development of warehouses to multi-layer shelves and high-bay warehouses, improve operational safety, and reduce cargo damage.

Forklifts can be divided into three categories: electric forklifts, warehouse forklifts and internal combustion forklifts.

1.Electric forklifts. The motor is used as power and the battery is used as energy. The load capacity is 1.0~5.0 tons, and the working channel width is generally 3.5~5.0m. Due to its pollution-free and low noise, it is widely used in working environments with high environmental requirements, such as medicine, food and other industries. Since each battery generally needs to be charged after about 8 hours of work, it is necessary to equip it with a spare battery for multi-shift work, and the workplace should have a special charging place. 

2. Warehouse forklift. Warehouse forklifts are mainly used for warehouse cargo handling. Except for a few warehouse forklifts (such as manual pallet forklifts) that are driven by manpower, the rest are driven by motors. Motors are widely used in the warehousing industry because of their compact structure, flexible movement, light weight, and good environmental performance. When working in multiple shifts, forklifts driven by motors need to have spare batteries, and the workplace should have a special charging place.

The load capacity of electric pallet stacker is 1.6~3.0T, the working channel width is 2.3~2.8m, and the fork height of the forklift is about 210mm. It is mainly used for horizontal handling and cargo handling in warehouses. There are generally two operating modes: walking and standing, which can be selected according to efficiency requirements.

The load capacity of electric pallet truck is 1.5~6.0 tons, and the working channel width is generally 2.3~2.8 meters.

The carrying capacity of the reach truck is 1.0~2.5t, and the mast can be moved forward or retracted as a whole. When collecting and releasing, the width of the working channel is generally 2.7~3.2m, and the lifting height can reach about 11m. It is usually used for medium-height stacking and picking in warehouses.

3. Internal combustion forklift. Internal combustion forklifts are divided into heavy-duty forklifts, ordinary internal combustion forklifts, container forklifts and side forklifts. Generally, gasoline, diesel, liquefied petroleum gas or natural gas engines are used as power, with large carrying capacity, and generally can carry more than 5 tons. Considering exhaust emissions and noise, they are usually used in outdoor places where there are no special requirements for exhaust emissions and noise. Due to the convenience of refueling, long-term continuous operation can be achieved and work in harsh environments.
